Dermatology, Venereology & Leprosy

The Department of Dermatology at TS Misra University was established in 2016 as one of the institution's clinical departments, with Dr. Ravindra Gulati serving as its founding Head of Department. In 2018, Dr. Ankit Kapoor assumed the role of Head, followed by Dr. Bhawna Kapoor in 2022. The MD Dermatology postgraduate program was introduced in the 2021–22 academic session with 2 postgraduate seats, which were expanded to 4 seats from the 2025–26 academic session, reflecting the department's academic growth. The department provides comprehensive, patient-centered, and evidence-based care for disorders of the skin, hair, nails, and mucous membranes across all age groups. It offers advanced diagnostic and therapeutic services, including dermatosurgery, skin biopsies, electrocautery, cryotherapy, and phototherapy, while also delivering specialized care for sexually transmitted diseases and leprosy through early diagnosis, appropriate treatment, counseling, rehabilitation, and community outreach.
