Respiratory Medicine
The Department of Respiratory Medicine at TSM Medical College and Hospital, established in 2015, has steadily developed into a centre of excellence in respiratory care and academics. The department was initially headed by Dr. O.P. Verma, followed by Dr. Abhishek Agarwal, and is presently led by Dr. Piyush Srivastava since November 2024.
The MD (Respiratory Medicine) postgraduate program was initiated in 2022 with an initial intake of 2 seats, which has now been increased to 3 seats from the current academic year (2026), reflecting sustained growth in infrastructure, faculty strength, and clinical workload. Currently, the department comprises four faculty members and one Senior Resident, actively contributing to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, clinical research, and comprehensive management of a broad spectrum of respiratory diseases with a strong commitment to academic excellence and patient-centred care.
Department is Integrated with NTEP (National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme) and has dedicated DOTS centre to provide services Tb patient.
